Finish Material Selection:

Some people visit our showroom hoping to “refresh” their existing kitchen with countertops, hardware, appliances, tile, etc. but may be purchasing some of the product elsewhere. We are happy to provide this service on an hourly basis. We do not change the layout or cabinetry with this service.

Before we get started…

Prior to making the Consultation appointment, it is a good idea to take some things into consideration to discuss with the Designer:

What do you like/dislike about your existing space?
Family Input:

Consider the number of people in your family and their ages.
Who uses the kitchen and for what purpose?
Is your family and home more formal or informal?

Establishing a budget

There are many ways to establish a budget for a kitchen. “Remodeling a 200 square foot kitchen can range from $20,000 to $100,000” (kitchens.com), and that price can go up and down, depending on how much the homeowner wants to invest in their home.

What is your timeline?

After we place the order for the cabinetry, it can take 4 to 16 weeks for delivery, depending on the cabinet company used. This does not include design time prior to the order, nor does it include installation time at the jobsite for the cabinetry, countertop and backsplash.

Do you have a builder/contractor?

We do not employ builders and carpenters directly. However, if you would like a referral from Lifestyle Kitchen Studio, we are happy to provide contact information for contractors in whom we have confidence.

It is very important that you are comfortable with your contractor or builder. They will be in your home and involved with your project from demolition through the end. We recommend that you meet with the contractor and make sure you are comfortable with him/her before entering into a contract.

Do you know your “Style”? Do you know what you like?
Are you contemporary? Are you a little traditional? Are you a little bit of both?

We strongly suggest researching different styles and starting a folder of photos and ideas that you would like to see in your home. Even those who think they are indecisive will start to see a pattern, and it can help everyone to have visual references for a strong starting point.
